“Ohana” means “family” in the Hawaiian language, and that’s what we are promoting in our Ohana 1+1 workshop. Family bonding can take place anywhere, but when it takes place in the kitchen, something magical happens. This workshop gives an opportunity for family members to bond over their culinary creations. No cooking experience is needed!
Kidder Chef (5 – 6 years)

We make math and science fun for our Kidder Chefs, as we use the kitchen classroom to show them how ingredients work together to create delicious treats. These interactive classes feature age-appropriate recipes with an educational twist and an emphasis on healthy food. Children will also learn about the basics of kitchen hygiene and safety.
Freshie Chef (7 – 10 years)

Freshie Chefs learn about the importance of math and science as they are taught to make dishes that depend on precise measurements. They also practice their reading skills in deciphering a recipe. But what is more important, this workshop teaches Freshie Chefs how to make healthy food choices and develop good eating habits.
Allievo Chef (11 – 14 years)

Our Allievo Chefs get the full hands-on experience while learning about basic cooking methods such as baking, frying, grilling, poaching, sautéing, and steaming. They will learn about the proper handling of uncooked ingredients and other food safety issues. The students are also encouraged to think more deeply about the sourcing and nutritional value of what they eat as they continue their lifelong culinary journey.
Teen Chef (14+ years)
(this program held twice monthly and at PatsyCamp Studio during holiday seasons or at special request)

As an extension of our Allievo Chef workshop, this program is for the aspiring chef who is eager to master advanced culinary skills and techniques including understand and learn how to prepare stock and sauce, use of herbs, knife skills, menu planning, food costing, etc. This program explores different types of cuisines that use a variety of ethnic ingredients and unfamiliar local ingredients. Whole grain and gluten-free baking techniques will be taught as part of the program’s emphasis on nutrition and health. Students will also learn how to read food labels and how the body processes fat, sugar, carbohydrates and calories so that they can make better-informed food choices for their health.
*As this program does require basic cooking knowledge, inexperienced students are required to attend 2-3-hour Intensive Cooking program before enrolling for the Teen Chef Program.

PatsyStudio
Cooking is a valuable life skill that lays the foundation for good health and great lifetime habits and encourages creativity. We believe every child should be given the opportunity to learn to cook and enjoy the process of making a meal, and that is why we created the PatsyStudio, which gives budding chefs a fun and safe environment to learn about the basics of cooking. In addition to introducing children to the joy of cooking, the PatsyStudio workshops are designed to educate student about where their food comes from and to get them to think about the nutritional value of their food.
We offer a daily schedule of cooking, baking and creativity art & craft programs for various age levels at our PatsyStudio. The menus for our programs Ohana 1+1 (all ages), Kidder Chef (5 – 6 years), Freshie Chef (7 – 10 years), Allievo Chef (11 – 14 years) and Teen Chef (14+ years) celebrate different seasons and cultures and include both sweet and savory recipes.
With the assistance of a teacher, students take a total hands-on approach to their meals. Age-appropriate kitchen tools are used, and safety is emphasized throughout the workshop.
